چکیده

Background: Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) represent tremendous potential as heterogeneous catalyst in renewable energy production. In this study, biodiesel production using the modified MOF nanocatalyst was investigated esterification reaction. Methods: prepared solvothermal method and through sulfation process. The nanocatalysts characterized by XRD, FT-IR, FE-SEM, TEM, N2 adsorption-desorption, NH3 -TPD techniques. performance of evaluated reaction free fatty acid (FFA) at different operating conditions. Results: results showed high crystallinity, appropriate textural properties (995.6 m2 g-1), well-adjusted acidity, hydrophobicity. degree 4 cc g-1 resulted best nanocatalyst, which led to highest FFA conversion (97%) optimal conditions: methanol ratio 10:1, 3wt.% 160 °C, 6 hours. Surprisingly, developed had a great reusability while reduction only 8% after six sequence cycles. Conclusion: These proved capability produce biodiesel.

Synthesis of magnetic metal-organic framework (MOF) for efficient removal of organic dyes from water

A novel, simple and efficient strategy for fabricating a magnetic metal-organic framework (MOF) as sorbent to remove organic compounds from simulated water samples is presented and tested for removal of methylene blue (MB) as an example. The novel adsorbents combine advantages of MOFs and magnetic nanoparticles and possess large capacity, low cost, rapid removal and easy separation of the solid...

Catalytic Esterification of Acetic Acid with Methanol; Comparison of Photocatalytic and Acid Catalysed Esterification

Methyl acetate is produced through catalytic esterification of acetic acid with methanol. Catalytic acceleration is induced by sulfuric acid or ion exchange resins respectively. Acceptable product yield is obtained by reactive distillation. Separation and isolation of methyl acetate has to overcome two azeotropes (methyl acetate – water and methyl acetate methanol). Scope of this project has be...

Development of Metal-Organic Framework for Gaseous Plant Hormone Encapsulation To Manage Ripening of Climacteric Produce.

Controlled ripening of climacteric fruits, such as bananas and avocados, is a critical step to provide consumers with high-quality products while reducing postharvest losses. Prior to ripening, these fruits can be stored for an extended period of time but are usually not suitable for consumption. However, once ripening is initiated, they undergo irreversible changes that lead to rapid quality l...

Post-synthesis modification of a metal-organic framework to form metallosalen-containing MOF materials.

A series of metallosalen-based metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have been prepared by the post-synthesis modification of Mn(III)SO-MOF, a Mn(3+)(salen)-based MOF. Treatment of Mn(III)SO-MOF with H(2)O(2) effects the removal of the Mn(3+) ions from the salen struts, which can then be remetalated with a variety of metal precursors to form isostructural MSO-MOF materials. The presence of the new me...

Thermodynamics of solvent interaction with the metal-organic framework MOF-5.

The inclusion of solvent in metal-organic framework (MOF) materials is a highly specific form of guest-host interaction. In this work, the energetics of solvent MOF-5 interactions has been investigated by solution calorimetry in 5 M sodium hydroxide (NaOH) at room temperature. Solution calorimetric measurement of enthalpy of formation (ΔH(f)) of Zn4O(C8H4O4)3·C3H7NO (MOF-5·DMF) and Zn4O(C8H4O4)...
